Why do we take dogs?

When a person takes a dog to his house first of all he is looking for a friend. And he/she gets it. A dog will meet you when you come home, will tenderly follow you wherever you go, and will protect you even if something threatens its own life. That is why if you want to have the real loyal and devoted friend the best thing you can do is to buy a dog.

But according to some researches dogs can even improve the health of their keepers and make them more socially adapted. They reduce risks of heart attacks and of diseases connected with blood pressure. A person may not even realise that he/she takes care of his/her health while taking care of a pet. When a person walks over, brushes, feeds a dog he/she improves his/her health. Besides when a person walks a dog, he/she receives the possibility to be in fresh air for several minutes, and it has good impact on the health of a person.

Besides, a life with a dog organizes our own life. Dogs teach us to be patient, give us endless loyalty and love, and always stay the best friends with whom you are always ready to share joy and sorrow. It will play with you with joy, help you with heavy things, find your lost things and even will find the necessary direction if you are lost.

Dogs differ from the rest of animal by their ability to be easily taught, by their love to play, the ability to adapt to unknown people and situations. A dog can be kept with many purposes: to guard, to hunt, to transport, to find, to entertain, to compete, to save, to direct blind people.

In ancient times and even now dogs are kept to transport things from one place to another. Nowadays they are used when the way to destination is too complicated for the ordinary means of transport. The harnesses with dogs are able to pass through all kinds of difficulties in any weather.

A dog is the eyesight of the blind person. A dog leads him/her and helps in every-day life; it gives the possibility to live the normal life.

Dogs were even used in wars for transporting the explosives, caring injured people, giving a message etc.

But there are cases when people use dogs with shameful aims like dogfights, use of dogs for experiments in laboratoies and in some countries of Asia people even eat dogs. Experiments and dogfights harm dogs a lot and provoke the negative attitude to them, because dogs used for fights are very aggressive and sometimes can't tell a person from another dog and may attack him/her.

In any case a dog is a dog and even the smallest one is still a dog that loves its keeper. If you don't harm it, it will never hurt you.
