Nowadays the problem of the usage of animals for experiments in laboratories is more and more discussed. There are a lot of people who are against it and don't support the experiments even if they can save lives of people later. There are a lot of associations that watch the rights of the animals. Nowadays the most frequently used animals in laboratories are rats and hamsters, rodents in general. But still there are laboratories that use dogs for experiments.

There are a lot of facts that justify the use of a dog for experiments in laboratories. People say that all medicines were discovered thanks to experiments on dogs. Besides, they justify these experiments by the fact that the animals for the experiments are carefully chosen among the old, ill and dieing dogs. They also use homeless dogs for experiments saying that in this way they reduce the number of homeless dogs in the streets.

The students of Medical Universities study the structure of the body thanks to dead dogs.

The first attempts to fight against the experiments on animals were taken in the year 1987, when a student from the USA refused to take part in the experiments. As a result she didn't pass the exam, and she declared to the court and won a case. Now student can choose whether to take part in the experiments or not.

Nowadays more and more students from different countries refuse to take part in such experiments due to their cruelty.

Besides, a lot of educative computer programs were elaborated that give the possibility to save lives of people. Thanks to these programs student study faster and better because they can repeat the same experiment several times and not to feel the moral tortures.

But still we need time to extend such programs. Besides, people need these experiments to test soap, shampoos, chemical products and even arms. Sometimes an experiment may last a couple of days and even months. During this period dogs suffer a lot. Doctors may keep them in the gas rooms and test different medicines and pills on them.
