A dog-leader.

There were times when dogs lived in packs where special rules were kept. The desire to be with a person, the hatred to stay alone, the protection of all members of the family from the strangers, distrustfulness to strangers, the obligatory ceremony of greetings when one of the members of the family enters are the traditions of the pack. And a person as a member of the pack should respect these rules. An apartment, a house, a yard and a park may be the territory of the dog. This territory is protected by the dog.

It is very important to understand that. A dog is the animal that lives according to its instincts. That is why it is necessary to consider its instincts while communicating with it.

So, when a dog appears the problem of a leader appears. There will be two options.

The first option is when you are the leader. This is the most frequent case. As a rule the owner makes the rules for the dog and it follows them.

The second option is when a dog feels that it is a leader. It may happen when owners do everything to satisfy a dog, praise it. For the dog it is not the sign of a kind attitude but the sign of weakness.

There are several signs that can tell you that a dog feels that it is leader. Here are some of them:

- a dog sleeps in your bed and you can't get it out from the bed

- a dog barks or growls near its plate

- a dogs becomes aggressive when you try to take its toy

- a dog tries to be the first who enters the house and passes into the hall

- a dog demands attention the when you are busy but it doesn't pay attention.

- a dog doesn't allow your friends to enter the house

Even when a dog already understands that you are the leader it can still try to take your position. Such attempts should be stopped.

Any way dogs are social and kind animals. Don't be too cruel and don't use violence to show it that you are the leader. There are other ways to do it.
